Final Project

Week 7

In our Final Project we were tasked to work as a group on creating a full garment, though not made to wear but still hard to do. We would have to go through the entire fashion development plan as shown in our lecture slides,

Week 8

Our first task was to to trend research, in where we conducted extensive research on the upcoming trends in fashion using all types of media. I did my trend research on two trends ultimately that I found interesting which were White and Coquette.

Next as a group we conceptualized our ideas by assembling all of our trend research to create a strong theme. We developed a mood board to get an idea of what we wanted to make.

Week 9

Following that, after gathering everyone's idea we had come up with an excellent theme. Now we had to start becoming real fashion designers and create our sketches. We stumbled with this as all of us did not have the same proportions.

Thus, we had to redo it. Each of us had to create 8 design to create 40 design that we were tasked to do.

We gathered the few designs that we though looked best and started to refine it.

At last we created our final look that achieved our goal and got all of our approval.

Week 11

After that we went material shopping at Masjid India that had many fabric shops that held a variety of products. Sadly for us the fabric we wanted could not be found in many of the shops as most of them had already sold out. However when we went to check out last shop they actually had it in many variety, we were glad we did not lose hope.

Week 12 & 13

Now it was time to create the real thing which was not as easy as it seems even though we didn't really sew anything properly. We had to start draping the fabric to create the silhouette we wanted to go for. After trial and error we managed to create our look after long nights work and effort.
