Harley Quinn is a character from the DC universe and has various stories with different outcomes. She originally was a promising psychologist and intern at Arkham Asylum in Gotham City but was soon manipulated by the Joker. Later on she starts to lose her mind when blindly following the Joker but soon she would leave him and take on a more solo journey in discovering herself.
Her fashion tends to become more expressive when she becomes more insane. I think we tend to not dress as flashy as we still want to follow social protocols but when you lose your mind like Harley Quinn you can't care any less. She wears very bright and flashy outfits paired with her 2 coloured dyed hair and fun makeup. Though there are many elements in her look it does not look out of place and perfectly pictures herself in it.
We can see a clear change in her style when she dresses for herself and when she dresses for the Joker. For Joker she tends to wear more revealing outfits and seductive looks to make her boyfriend more content with her. However for herself she naturally goes to more fun combinations that are not consistent. She often tries new things like wearing a jumpsuit and the next day wearing an elegant dress. There's no wrong choices when you're dressing up as yourself, is there ? Following her character she has the most unpredictability factor and that can be seen as even though she is a fighter she does not prepare spaces for weapons, anything she can get a hold on just becomes her weapon.
